Speaking in his post-match press conference, Scott Parker lamented a lack of intensity in the last 15 minutes which cost the Whites dearly in a game where little split the two sides.

Fulham took the lead when Aleksandar Mitrović anticipated a defensive mistake, but three late goals earned Aston Villa the victory.

“I didn’t think there was much in the game really,” Parker said. “Both teams up until we scored the first goal huffed and puffed. But I thought we were pretty solid and always looked a threat.

“You get your nose in front at 1-0 and, I think it is fair to say, the first goal we conceded doesn’t bother me too much. I understand that we can do better in those moments.

“But after the first goal it was poor from us really, we dropped our intensity, I felt like the emotion of that goal infected us too much. We weren’t streetwise enough in those moments.

“For large parts today, I thought we were solid. The last 15 minutes I didn’t like at all, it’s something we need to address, and the players need to understand it.”

The boss promised to be brutally honest with his players and that his side would learn from the difficult experience on Easter Sunday at Villa Park.

“The last 15 minutes you cannot brush under the carpet,” he explained. “We cannot move on too quickly without addressing. That needs to be addressed and we’ll address it first thing.

“We can withstand the pressure; we’ve withstood the pressure for large parts this year. We’ve been very good defensively. Sometimes, like in a boxing match, you need take a knee, a count and regroup a little bit and survive.

Stagione no, nell’anticipo sconfitta in casa coi Wolves al 92’, ci mancava proprio una cosa cosi.

Adama Traore's last-minute winner was enough for Wolves to take home the points in a hardly fought match at the Cottage on Friday night.

In a tightly contested game of few chances, it was Wolves who thought they had taken the lead on the brink of half time, before a narrow offside call ruled Willian Jose’s goal out.

Then, right at the finale of the second period, Wolves did get their goal hitting Fulham with a cruel sucker punch.

There was a double change deployed by Scott Parker as his side looked to bounce back from three previous losses in a row.

Antonee Robinson came into the side in place of Ademola Lookman, who had picked up a knock a game prior at Villa Park. Terence Kongolo was also in to make his first league start of the season in changed shape at the back, at the expense of Tosin.

Before kick-off, there was a two-minute silence observed in respect for His Royal Highness who sadly passed away at the age of 99 earlier in the day.

Paghiamo diverse carenze soprattutto in attacco, purtroppo.
COYW sempre e comunque.

Fulham’s three points were snatched away in the closing seconds at the Emirates after more late drama for the second week in a row.

Josh Maja’s scored an emphatic penalty after 57 minutes following a trip on Mario Lemina, and just when it looked there was to be a massive win, Eddie Nketiah came off the bench to grab a late equaliser.

In his 100th game in charge, Scott Parker made five changes from the side that played Wolves last Friday as Maja, Tosin, Frank Anguissa, Ademola Lookman and Ivan Cavaleiro all came in to start.

Kenny Tete was forced out after returning a positive Covid test, whilst Terrence Kongolo was also sidelined after sustaining a season-ending injury last-time-out. Lookman’s return from a knock meant there was some good news on the injury front also.

Troppi allenatori, troppi giocatori acquistati senza alcun raziocinio, nessuna programmazione.

VOTI A QUESTO PUNTO DELLA STAGIONE:

- Parker 7
- Giocatori 6,5
- Dirigenza 3
